Alexander and Hanna Leistikow

Alexander Leistikow, son of August and Henrietta (Münch) Leistikow, was born April 17, 1879, in the village of Labenz, County (Kreis) Scheifelbein located in an area of the country of Pomerania that is now part of Poland.

Alexander married Hanna Roe July 6, 1901. Alexander and Hanna had 5 children:

Emma Christina Leistiko Born April 17, 1902, in Park County, MT. Emma married John Kenneth Gurnsey and they had 9 children.
Alfred Alexander Leistiko Born June 6, 1903, in Kevin, MT. Alfred married Audrey Bailey and they had 4 children.
'Infant' Leistiko Born April 8, 1905 in Great Falls, MT. Lived only 16 days.
Albert August "Gus" Leistiko Born July 31, 1906 in Great Falls, MT.
Henry O. "Hank" Leistiko Born May 29, 1909 in Great Falls, MT. Henry married Libby Banzant. There are no known children.

Alexander was dragged to death by a horse in 1908 on the land he and Hanna had homesteaded in December, 1902, at Kevin, near Shelby, MT. His headstone in old Highland Cemetary reads "Christ is my life, Dying is my Victory".

Hanna then married Ed Krause, whom she met at Hedwig Leistiko's boarding house in Great Falls.
