Richard "Dick" Hogg, son of John and Beatrice (Nutter) Hogg was born on July 27, 1916, in the family home at 3100 J Street, Vancouver, Washington. He attended school in Vancouver, and began his long career in banking with a job with Washington National Bank in Vancouver, where he worked for five years. When the United States entered World War II, Dick joined the Air Force, and served in Guatemala, Panama, and the Galapagos Islands.
When the war ended, Dick returned home, and married Bettye Self on September 6, 1947. He returned to the banking industry with a job with Seattle First in Vancouver. While working there he joined the Optimist Morning Club, and was eventually elected President of the club. He was also a member of the Dawn Breakers Breakfast Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Dick was also a lifetime member of the Vancouver Elks as well as an associate member of the Yakima Elks Club. Dick lived in Vancouver for 35 years before moving his family to Seattle when he was promoted and supervised 35 bank branches. Dick eventually became assistant Vice President. In 1965 he moved with his family to Yakima, where he supervised 15 branches until he retired in 1975.

Dick contracted Parkinsons Disease, and eventually succumbed to it on June 8, 1996. He is remembered by all who knew him as a strong optimistic man, with a great sense of humor, who loved his wife and family, and greatly contributed to all the communities in which he lived.
