Robert William Adams, son of Russell and Ruth (VanDyke) Adams, was born on July 3, 1927. At the time, the family lived on the "Bradburn place" in the Senate Valley, eight miles northeast of Broken Bow, in Custer County Nebraska. A farm boy, bob was given chores to do from the time he was very young, and as he grew older, was actively involved in all the work associated with the family farm.

While living in the Senate Valley, Bob completed highschool. When World War II broke out, Bob joined the Navy and served for 3 years. By the time he returned, the family had purchased and moved to the "Roger's Ranch", east of Broken Bow. Bob resumed farming with his father.

Bob married Eula Ferne Smith on June 2, 1957, in the Methodist Church in Ansley, Nebraska. Bob and Eula had three children:


James William AdamsBorn in June 1958. James married Delores Fay White, September 1981, in the Christian Church in Broken Bow. They have three children: Arminta Elizabeth born June in 1984, in Broken Bow, and Eli Robert and Eric Vernon, twins, born in December 1987, in Hastings, Nebraska.
Mark Dean AdamsBorn in April 1960. Mark married Annette Coleman in May 1979. Two children were born to them: Jessica Diane, born in October 1979, in Broken Bow, and Marshall Dean, born in March 1983, in Grand Island. Mark and Annette are divorced. Mark remarried to Cheryl Schmidt Fann, in October 1988 in Broken Bow. They have one child, Tabitha Delight, born in June 1989. Jessica married Marion Justin Larsen.
Eva Marie AdamsBorn in April 1965. Eva Marie married Lee Curtis Glover in August 1988, in Broken Bow, in the Evangelical Free Church. Lee and Eva were divorced, and Eva remarried to Scott Edward Lenhart. They have one child: Bryce Edward, born in March 1995.

Bob and Eula spent all of their married life on the family farm east of Broken Bow. Bob died October 6, 1979. Eula moved to Broken Bow the following year.

In his remembrances of Bob, My Brother, included in a book on family history published by his mother Ruth, Bob's younger brother Francis documents some of his memories about Bob when they were growing up.
