Aldora (Buhr) Huck

Aldora Emma Buhr, daughter of Johann and Bertha Buhr was born on December 23, 1906. Aldora was baptized into the Lutheran faith on January 13, 1907 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate, Iowa and confirmed on March 28, 1930 at Zion Lutheran Church in Readlyn, Iowa. She attended country school in the Readlyn area. On September 23, 1928 she was united in marriage to Walter L. Huck at Zion Lutheran Church in Readlyn, Iowa, and they had one son, Willis Huck. The couple moved to Denver and in December of 1936 they moved to Waverly.

Aldora was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly and a member of the Dorcas circle. She enjoyed gardening, collecting plates, watching birds, playing cards, traveling and most especially spending time with her family.

Aldora died April 8, 2002 at the Shell Rock Health Care Center in Shell Rock, Iowa. Survivors were her son, Willis and his wife, Jane of Waverly, Iowa; four grandsons, Kalvin and his wife, Cheryl of Arvada, CO, Kenneth and his wife, Julie of DeKalb, IL, Kerry and his wife, Tami of Marshalltown, IA, and Keith and his wife, Lorri of Waverly, Iowa; 11 great grandchildren, Chelsea, Adam, Katie, Kyle, Michael, Ashley, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Beth and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter on November 5, 1979 and by three sisters, Clara Matthias, Esther Matthias and Charlotte Struck.
